Amber Brown is the lead project manager in the Strategic Initiatives Lab within VHA’s Digital Health Office (DHO). She has spent nearly 20 years working in mental health. She worked in community mental health for 10 years before obtaining her Masters in Social Work in 2011. She immediately joined the Western North Carolina VA Healthcare System in Asheville, NC as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and spent the next 8 years working in the Social Work Department directly serving Veterans. She briefly served as the facility Public Affairs Officer before transitioning into process improvement and project management as the facility Systems Redesign Coordinator. Amber is a certified Prosci Change Management Practitioner and Lean Black Belt. She lives outside of Asheville, NC, with her husband and two sons, and on weekends enjoys game nights, baking, and exploring the beautiful mountains!
